UVI Online was established in 2018 as the University of the Virgin Islands’ 100% online course format for students to earn their degree. Offering a small yet expanding range of popular, accredited programs from Associate, Bachelors, and Postgraduates degrees. The degrees of UVI Online are based on popular demand and are currently based in Criminal Justice, Accounting, Management, Education, Administration, Educational Leadership, and Organizational Leadership. Within the seven years of being active, UVI Online has made a name for itself since recently coming into being.
UVI Online achieved high recognition on Forbes.com as one of the, “Best HBCUs With Online Degrees of 2023” on June 6, 2023, only five years into the program’s existence. Ranked third on the list, UVI Online was praised for its “high student retention rate, low student-to-faculty ratio, and low average net price per year.” Additionally, UVI Online boasts a hard-working, engaging faculty, efficient course designs coupled with embedded E-books for every class, and a strong commitment to teaching and interacting with students beyond the screen.
Despite recent technical difficulties with applications to the program, UVI Online is working through them diligently and has started Fall 2025 with 131 registered students! Continuing forward, UVI will continue to support its digital facilities so that our third, virtual campus shines brightly as any other facet of the University of the Virgin Islands!
