“The UVI Presidential Scholars Program celebrates the best and brightest of our student body—those who lead with vision, integrity, and purpose. It is both a recognition of excellence and an invitation to be part of something greater: the transformation of the University of the Virgin Islands. Our Scholars are not only preparing for the world beyond UVI—they are actively shaping the future of this institution. I strongly encourage aspiring leaders to apply and become a part of this legacy of impact.”Dr. Safiya George, President, University of the Virgin Islands

Kierra, Trevincia, & R’Daejah were selected from a highly competitive group of applicants this summer to be interns working directly with the Office of the President for the next academic year on a variety of rotational assignments.  This internship will provide a variety of professional development opportunities over the course of this program that will allow them to contribute to high-impact projects, implement their project interests and represent the university in various capacities that will immerse them in the operations of UVI.

“The UVI Presidential Scholars Program is a distinguished initiative that I’m proud to work on.  It’s designed to mentor upperclassmen as they prepare to enter the professional world. What makes it truly unique is that it also empowers them to play an active role in shaping the future of UVI itself. This academic year promises to be an inspiring journey—for both our Scholars and the institution. I’m excited for all we will accomplish together.”Jeannine Francis-Brown, Director of Presidential Communications & Program Manager of Presidential Scholars Program

Please join us in welcoming Kierra, Trevincia & R’Daejah to the Presidential Scholars team and look forward to the contributions they will make to our university’s ongoing transformation.
