The UVI Passport to the World Program is my favorite program at UVI. When I was an undergraduate student, this program allowed me to travel to the mystic deserts of Egypt, the lush valleys of Panama, the vibrantly artistic communities of Colombia, and the scenic savannas of Kenya. Each trip has been a powerful reminder of the valuable lessons I carry with me as a lifelong learner.
When I saw that Japan was on the itinerary for Spring 2025, I made sure to be part of this special UVI family trip. I got the opportunity to experience Japan’s deep respect for tradition and religion as we visited ancient temples and shrines, I witnessed cutting-edge technological innovations and tried new foods. This all deepened my appreciation for Japanese culture.

Now, as a current graduate student and UVI employee, I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to continue traveling abroad with a community from home. This program takes away the stress of travel planning, giving me the security to fully focus on the experience. I felt safe traveling with the group and learned so much along the way. It truly takes immersive learning to the nextlevel.
I’m sure many of my fellow travelers would agree that by the end of every UVI Passport to the World trip, I’m always left with the question: Where to next?!
